Hi and welcome to Spirit’s blog. Today I wanted to discuss a creature or myth that has peaked my interest for a long time. So the legend of the Phoenix is about a bird that lives for a very long time, then sets itself on fire and dies. Out of the ashes another Phoenix is born.

The Phoenix was a beautiful bird that supposedly lived in “Paradise”, a world beyond the Sun. They were known to have very long lives, roughly 1,000 years. When the Phoenix felt his time was coming he would venture out to the west, He would grab sprigs of herbs and different sticks.

After the collecting of materials, he would begin making his nest. It took him an average of three days. After his nest was built, he would begin singing “The Death Song”. This song is meant to arouse the interest of nearby Gods or Goddesses. The Sun God (Apollo) would sit and watch as a spark came from his horse drawn chariot.

The fire would light engulfing the nest and the bird. Then out of the ashes, would rise another Phoenix. This one’s job was the same as the old one, search the earth. People are still curious about what they would look for but, they did look.

So to wrap this up, The Phoenix was a bird from different Eastern Civilizations. He never technically dies. So when needing to tap into the power of the Phoenix remember it is a trans-formative power. Harness this power to do your bidding. Blessed be.
