The History Behind Area 51

Hi all and welcome to Spirit’s blog. Today we are going to discuss, one of my favorite topics, Area 51 or what some conspiracy theorists believe to be, the place that the United States hides alien proof, artifacts, etc. So there are stories everywhere online lately, that got me thinking, aside from conspiracies I don’t exactly know what that place is, so I did some research to find out just exactly what it is or they claim it is. And why we should not mess with it. The truth will be exposed soon enough.

What is “Area 51”

Area 51 is a highly classified United States Air Force Base located in Lincoln County, Nevada. This base goes by a few names, Area 51, Homey Airport, and Groom Lake (named after the salt flat next to the airfield). This base contains an area roughly 6 miles by 10 miles, known as “ The Groom Box”, that is restricted air space, this is the original base acquired in 1955. This area has a series of paved, underground tunnels that lead to nearby towns, these tunnels are known as the Nevada Test Site road network. The Nevada Test Site is a US Dept. of Energy reservation that was once used to test nuclear devices, it is now known as the Nevada National Security Site.
